This satirical option article is written by Kelly McMahan, where she points out the many flaws of the Fine Arts Center at UMass in a humorous way. McMahon describes how difficult it is to even get into the building, considering the fact that many of the most convenient entrances are always locked. In addition to the flawed practicality of the building, she points out the strange look of the concrete building. She also includes quotes from fictitious interviews, where others explain the confusing nature of the hallways inside the building. McMahan goes on to explain that there is not just one underground level, but three basement floors of the building, and within these floors the rooms tend to look like fallout shelters. The walls are so thick that no noise can be heard from them, giving a creepy feeling to the building. McMahon makes one final critique to the FAC at UMass, which is that the building has absolutely no windows, creating a space that does not help lift students artistic spirits.
